Nod to Fire and Ice

Taking a break from my Muses today to photograph another "muse" of mine, Victoire from Integrity's East 59th line. The East 59th line was what pulled me back over to the 1:6 size again. Like many fashion doll collector's, my love of dolls started with Barbie. Barbie was also what got me into collecting as an adult. As the years went by and Gene was introduced 1n 1995, my interest switched to the 16" dolls. I dabbled in several different lines in that size range, and still retain my favorites from Ashton Drake, Integrity, Tonner and Jamieshow in the 16" size, but for many years I moved out of the traditional fashion dolls and my focus became centered more on the asian ball jointed dolls, specifically Iplehouse, and other doll companies with a similar realistic aesthetic. I still love my Iplehouse dolls, and have added dolls from both Raccoon Doll and SartoriaJ as well. I even have blogs devoted to those dolls in the sidebar. I had always admired Chris Stoeckel's designs when others would show their OOAK piece on 16" dolls on various doll forums, so during the pandemic I found a couple of East 59th dolls for sale at one of my favorite retailers and decided to give them a try. I was hooked!! They brought me back to enjoying the 1:6 doll size in a big way again. I joined Integrity's collector's club hoping to get the inside scoop on the new lines and have continued to enjoy the East 59th line very much. Chris Stoeckel's designs are perfection! Now back to this particular Victoire doll, Sparkling New Year. Yes, I know I'm a little out of season, but she had been lingering in her box waiting for the right timing and when I received this background in from a seller in China on Ebay, I knew it would be perfect for this version of Victoire, so decided to spring her from her box to photograph her today.

When this doll first came out it reminded me of a juxtaposition of  Revlon's Fire and Ice campaign. A picture of the famous Fire and Ice ad below, both in the original 1952 ad and an updated ad campaign in 2010.
I may dress my Basic raven Victoire in this outfit eventually, or maybe Alexis from the Muse collection and try and emulate the ad, but for now, Sparkling New Year's time to shine.

She's a stunning version of Victoire with her ice blue eyes and red lips. I could have done without the white stripe in her hair, but I see why it was done. It definitely adds to the drama, and ties to the beautiful coat.

And as always with Chris' ensembles the tailoring and details are wonderful! Her jewelry is really beautiful, and love her red gloves and clutch. Another gorgeous addition to the East 59th collection.

Modern Bubble

I loved this gorgeous blue dress from the Enchanted collection (Look 5) from the first, but was trying to be good and didn't preorder it, so was extremely happy when I was able to pick it up in the extras. It's a gorgeous modern take on the bubble dress.

I decided to let Sasha model as I thought it would accentuate her gorgeous blue eyes.

The earrings are very weighty. The dress also came with a rhinestone necklace, but I felt it wasn't needed with the gorgeous beading on the bodice and the bold earrings.

Enchanted has become one of my favorite Muse collections. I ended up purchasing way more than I originally intended, but am glad I did. I'm enjoying every bit of it.

And if the white outfit for the men is still in stock at the end of the week when payday rolls around I may add yet another piece. After seeing the beautiful drape of this fabric, I hope the technique is used again in another collection. I loved the purple bubble long gown, but didn't cave due to the sheer volume of the dress.

This dress was a nice compromise.

Waiting on His Princess

I tried to resist this outfit, and didn't preorder it, but I kept looking at in the leftovers and finally caved, and I'm glad I did. It's Look 21 from the Jamieshow/Owensu Enchanted collection. I decided to let Orlando model.

I love the slightly over the top details such as the big puffy sleeves and the Elizabethan collar. The color has hints of gray in it. Just beautiful.

I've not been disappointed with anything I've received from this line, and I'll say again how much I love that we are getting high quality men in this size, and wonderful clothing for them!

Shades of Pink

A couple of just because pictures................just because I had these two standing next to each other and wanted to capture their beauty to look back on once they eventually change their clothes. Summer Kisses Ginnie in Enchanted Look 4 and Enchanted Lilly in Look 7.

And a close up of the girls.

Enchanted Look 7

Leftovers from the Jamieshow Enchanted collection went up on the website this past Friday, and the goodies I was able to get arrived today. Since I had not seen any owner photos of this gorgeous ensemble, Look 7, I decided to photograph it first.

Since I didn't purchase Grace in this collection, I did also get the pink updo wig that Grace came with as I thought it would work nicely with this gown. Honestly, Lilly was not who I originally purchased the gown for, but she was handy, and Bella (who I originally had in mind for the gown) was not, so Lilly got first dibs.

I know the pink hair is probably not a usual choice for Lilly, but I think her makeup palette compliments the gown well, and once I put the pink wig on her, I thought she pulled it off better than what I thought she would.

Lilly's lip color is a very pretty shade of pearlescent pink, that compliments the mauvy tones of the bodice of the gown.

The tulle on the bottom of this gown is so soft. Much softer and drapier than I anticipated. My original fear was that the gown would be too big, but I'm glad I didn't listen to that voice trying to talk me out of it and instead listened to the one telling me to go for it. Now I'm trying to figure out who will get to model the remainder of the gowns that I was able to add to my collection. Lilly may wear this one for a little while though as I really do like it on her.

I'd Know You Anywhere

Just having a bit of fun with Ginnie (Summer Kisses) and Alejandro(Dangerous Love) in their finery from the Enchanted line.

I just love these two together.

I was luckily able to pick up a few more goodies from the Enchanted line on Friday and am anxiously awaiting their arrival. This collection truly does inspire the "magic" in dolly play.

Orlando Times Two

Just a quick post today, as I thought it would be fun to put both versions of Orlando together in one photo. This photo is a testament to what a change of face up and wig can do. He doesn't even look like the same sculpt, does he? Enchanted Orlando is on the left, Dangerous Love is on the right.

One of my favorite things about this collection, the face ups are extraordinarily done! And it is SO easy to change wigs on them with the Jamieshow wig caps. yes, I'm a wig pig. We just need more varied styles for the guys and varying colors as well (other than black and white). Jamieshow/Owensu- If you make it, I will most likely buy it, lol!

Colorways

I recently purchased this pink dress Lilly is wearing and liked it so much that I went back and got the red version with Kate in mind. Dresses by DollsFancyWorld on Etsy. The attention to detail, those tiny grommets up the side.............just amazing. The dress fits the girls like it was made for them. I had some time this morning and thought it would be fun to photograph the girls together in both colorways of the dress.

I wish there were even more colors available. It would be stunning in black!

And some black and white shots of the girls, just because I love black and white photos.

Vested

While stalking the Jamieshow website, and my email box, anxiously awaiting word of Enchanted leftovers, I've  been playing with what I have. I love this version of  Jamieshow Muse Daniel. He reminds me so much of Henry Golding, the actor.

Henry Golding below

I think it is the way Daniel's lips are painted in this version that is so appealing to me. Very realistic, and reminiscent of the actor's IMHO. I'm very glad I got the Dangerous Love version as opposed to waiting, as the Enchanted version of Daniel just doesn't grab me like the first version did. I think Enchanted Daniel's darker lip color just missed the mark for me. Anyway, I'm very glad to have DL Daniel. For this look he's pairing the pants from DL Look 3 with an Integrity vest.

Daniel is also modeling against one of the new backgrounds I got from Tiny Frock Shop.

Houndstooth

I do believe red is Kate's color. Just playing a bit with an Integrity outfit on Kate. I got some new backgrounds in from Tiny Frock Shop over the weekend and wanted to try them out.

I also wanted to play a bit with wigs on Kate and see what other colors might suit her. I think she wears most colors well. Since I hadn't had this low ponytail style (from the Dangerous Love collection) in raven on anyone yet, I thought I'd try it on Kate.

I like it on her quite a bit. Her brows are dark enough to pull it off.

She's proving to be quite versatile.

Hair or No Hair

I love my male dolls as much as the girls, so was super thrilled that Jamieshow did the male Homme dolls in their line. I have 4 of them so far, and another two on order from the Bonjour Paris collection. Now if they would just start giving us a little more variety in wig caps for them, I would be SUPER happy. Although, as I mentioned in my first post of Enchanted Orlando, he is one sculpt that I'm very happy with bald. I put him in Look 7 from the Dangerous Love collection for some new photos, as I hadn't photographed this outfit in its entirety yet.

I took several shots of him bald.

And as I mentioned before I like him this way quite a lot. Gives him a unique vibe within my crew.

Towards the end of my photo shoot I decided to put his default wig cap on him for a couple of shots.

I love this wig cap, but would love to see it in a couple of different colors besides the white and black. Hoping in the next capsule we will get an auburn haired guy. (Owensu mentioned to me in a comment in Instagram that there would be another new collection coming in October. Squeee.......so save up people!) Anyway, I digress, I would love to see an auburn haired guy or a true brunette in that crop. Or at least some wig cap options in those colors. So do you prefer Orlando with hair, or no hair?

Elegantly Edgy

I got a new dress in from DollsFancyWorld on Etsy this week and I have been excited to get some play time to try it on Lilly and get some photos. Love it so much I had to go back and order it in red too. It fits the Muse girls like it was made for them. The details on the dress are so beautiful, and it zips up the back.

I love this short wig from the Dangerous Love collection and own it in three of the four colors offered. I really ought to go back and get it in bronze as well before it sells out.

Lilly is proving to be very versatile. I think she rocks this dress and the short locks.

A better shot showing the details of the side of the dress. Just gorgeous!

And I'll end with a close up of the gorgeous Lilly.
